Fashion week

We made it to London, whole, sound and very sleepy. Our first night we ended up sleeping until almost 1 pm! After our late start we headed out with the very helpful information of Timir, one of the employees of the hostel. He showed us all of the good places to go and places that we shouldn't miss.

Of course our first stop was the shopping district. Both of us needed flats and a smaller bag for walking around. So, we hit London's greatest. Topshop, H&M and Primark. It was a fabulous day out and we got fresh fruit from a vendor on the street. We figure we'll get no fruit when we go to India so we should capitalize on it now.

After all that shopping we needed a break so we walked down a side street and found a charming little cafe called Allan's. We got fresh mint Moroccan style tea which was fantastic and we were given baklava on the house. Seeing as I've never had baklava in Greece and Alexis has, it was the best baklava that I had ever had. By this time it was already past 7 so we decided to start walking back via side streets.

Little did we know we would stumble upon one of our best adventures yet! It was the first day of fashion week in London! There were mobs of people and free food everywhere! But the best part was that we got to see some of the highest fashion in London. Everyone was dressed to impress because camera crews were everywhere, pulling fashionable, beautiful people aside for interviews and photos. Of course this was our nightmare. Wearing tevas and Burks we were much less than fashionable. We ended up popping in a Starbucks and changing into clothes we had bought that day! Then we were able to enjoy the night more thoroughly.

With that taking up our time we didn't return home until 10! At which point we ate reduced price food from a grocery store, combined our whole meal was £1 ! First day in London was a blast and we have more to come!
